- ➤ Blue Ridge Food Bank is reviewing its food distribution approach after the USDA released an inverted food pyramid on Jan. 7 and permitted whole milk in school lunches on Jan. 14. The food bank plans to update its practices soon to better serve the community. 29 News
- ➤ More than 200 volunteers at Jackson P. Burley Middle School created 1,000 care kits on Monday as part of a Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service organized by United Way and Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital to support local community members facing homelessness. 29 News
