  • Rockfish Wildlife Sanctuary will hold a Valentine’s Day fundraiser offering a mealworm naming option for $25 and digital or printed valentines, with donations helping care for injured and orphaned wildlife in the community. CULTURE NEWS

  • UVA will display a rare Declaration of Independence print—one of only 26 known to exist—for Presidents’ Day on campus. The historic exhibit will offer visitors an engaging look at a treasured national artifact.  29 News
  • Virginia Theatre Festival announced its 52nd season featuring productions of Ken Ludwig's Moriarty, Disney's Newsies and Frida A Self Portrait. The festival opens June 20 with Moriarty at the Ruth Caplin Theatre, holds auditions on Feb. 20 & 21, and tickets go on sale April 17 at UVA Drama Building.  Cville Right Now

  • Students from Charlottesville City Schools recently visited Milk and Honey to learn about restaurant hospitality through the Tie Up Thursdays program. General manager Mandela Jones explained how hard work in school and a passion for service can lead to a career in the industry.  29 News
  • The University of Virginia disclosed just under $500 million in foreign funding, ranking 30th among 555 institutions. The report detailed 26 deals with China (totaling $15,916,584) and transactions from Switzerland, Ireland, Japan, and Germany as part of federal disclosure requirements before Dec. 16, 2025.  Cville Right Now
  • A University email will be sent on Feb. 24 with a personalized link so eligible students can vote for over 80 student government positions until Feb. 26. The election campaign begins Feb. 15 (which includes a Student Council debate) and candidate registration ended Feb. 5.  The Cavalier Daily

  • Sadhbh O’Flynn, a climate justice policy manager with the Community Climate Collaborative in Charlottesville, shared her vision for a future where renewable energy, clean air and community solar projects unite central Virginians by 2045.   • Dominion Energy will hold public meetings on its plan to rebuild the electric transmission line between Charlottesville and Gordonsville. The meetings will offer community input on the project details.  CBS 19 News
