- ➤ Ivy Corridor student housing is set to open for the 2027-2028 academic year at the intersection of Emmet Street and Ivy Road. The expansion includes two six-story buildings (750-800 beds) and dining and retail spaces after a 2025 committee approved a $160 million budget to meet rising housing demand. The Cavalier Daily

- ➤ Governor Spanberger announced a $962,958 grant to New Hill Development Corporation, the nonprofit behind BEACON Kitchen. The funds will support a shared-use commercial kitchen in Charlottesville (creating 65 new jobs) to help local food producers process area-grown food. 29 News
- ➤ The City of Charlottesville began tree work on 5th Street Southwest on Monday, Feb. 16 to clear branches that risk falling onto sidewalks and roadways. Later phases may close inside lanes to allow work on trees (including memorial trees) while preserving them with minimal traffic disruption. 29 News
