  • Community Attention Foster Families seeks new diverse foster parents across Greene, Albemarle, Fluvanna counties and Charlottesville to help keep children close to home and support family reunification. CULTURE NEWS

  • The Jefferson School African American Heritage Center is hosting the recast and reclaim exhibit until May 30 to let community members view new designs made from bronze recovered from the dismantled statue; design firms (MASS Design Group, Hood Design Studio, Push Studio) will announce the chosen design on July 10.  29 News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Special Collections Director Brenda Gunn explained the significance of two original copies of the Declaration of Independence printed by John Dunlap in Philadelphia in a recent episode of On Record at the University (students were also invited to get involved).  The Cavalier Daily

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Virginia General Assembly passed three bills this month to empower state agencies to manage invasive plants that cost the Commonwealth over a billion dollars each year. The bills now await Governor Spanberger's signature to become law.  29 News

  • Revolutionary Soup is a longtime eatery off Downtown Mall that serves soups, salads, and sandwiches made from local, organic ingredients.   • Virginia's women's rowing team, ranked No. 8, will begin its spring season on March 29 at the Doc Hosea Invitational in Cherry Hill, N.J.   • Duke defeated Virginia 74-70 on Saturday, Mar. 14 at the ACC Tournament in Charlotte, as Cameron Boozer sealed the win in the final seconds & Malik Thomas scored 18 for Virginia during a game marked by 16 lead changes.  29 News
  • UVA Cavaliers secured the third seed in the Midwest region and will face Wright State in Philadelphia on Friday. The team under coach Ryan Odom is set to end its NCAA Tournament win drought since 2019.  Cville Right Now
