- ➤ Charlottesville Tomorrow is hiring a full-time reporter to cover local news, including public institutions and higher education. The job, supported by Report for America — which requires in-person work at the Charlottesville newsroom and travel to events— offers competitive pay and benefits and will accept applications until filled. - ➤ Artist Ceejay Renner-Thomas, an art teacher and operator of Milk Glass studio, won $5,365 at the New City Arts Initiative SOUP dinner on Feb. 28 at Jefferson School and will use it to host free glassblowing workshops in Charlottesville starting in May — he wants to make a space for people to hang out and learn — as part of his ongoing efforts. - ➤ Three UVa graduate students have received $3,500 each from the Battestin Fellowship program to support bibliographical research this summer. The Daily Progress
- ➤ Governor Glenn Youngkin changed the UVA Board of Visitors, sparking debate on higher education policies and future funding for DEI programs. - ➤ UVA Health is pioneering a new non-invasive treatment for liver cancer that uses ultrasound to break down tumors without surgery. The treatment is being studied as a safer option that may help patients recover faster. 29 News

- ➤ Virginia’s softball team, the Cavaliers, has boosted its offense this season—raising its hit average from .248 to .319 and slugging from .380 to .572—and now holds sixth place in the ACC.
