- ➤ The Charlottesville School Board voted four to two to create a plan for bringing back school resource officers after their removal five years ago—school division staff will work with the city police and share more details after spring break. The Daily Progress
- ➤ Gov. Glenn Youngkin proposed cutting $138.2 million from the extra funding that lifted the support cap on public school support positions, a move that local officials say could cost Washington County up to $1 million for essential services. The General Assembly will review his amendment when it reconvenes on Wednesday. The Daily Progress

- ➤ RWSA announced that beginning April 8 a portion of Old Rio Mills Road between Route 29 and Millers Cottage Lane will be closed for installing a 24 inch transmission water line to improve our drinking water system. The closure will last 8—10 weeks and drivers can reach Millers Cottage Lane by taking Rio Road West then Earlysville Road while access to Brook Hill River Park remains open. Cville Right Now

- ➤ A free eight-lesson course to support families with mental health challenges is offered in Charlottesville—trained educators with personal experience lead the sessions. Registration is open for the program, which will begin April 27. 29 News
