The Foothills Child Advocacy Center is supporting Child Abuse Prevention Month by teaming with law enforcement and social services to help children and families.

The center gives forensic interviews, medical exams, and caregiver support — it partners with over 200 local groups to teach ways to prevent abuse.

Albemarle County is moving forward with its budget process and land use planning as Director of Communications Abbey Stumpf said that while four of seven community budget town halls have been held, budget work will resume next week with final adoption set for May 7th.

The county also plans a new pedestrian bridge over Route 29 near Stonefield—this project will help pedestrians cross a busy highway safely.
