- ➤ Virginia Guesthouse Hotel & Conference Center opened its doors Monday, Apr. 6 in UVA’s Ivy Corridor with 25,000 sqft of meeting space & 214 guestrooms, plus two restaurants & a coffee shop. - ➤ Archaeologists unearthed a brick kiln from the 1700s near Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello during excavation before construction began. Original inscriptions on the bricks offer rare insight into historic building methods (the kiln was found just feet from the house) and add context to the property’s history. 29 News
