- ➤ Former Greencroft Club manager John Francis Van Peppen was sentenced to six months in jail for embezzling over $100K from the club in a scam that showed him bogus profits on an app— his lawyer said he did not pocket any money and Van Peppen apologized in court. The Daily Progress

- ➤ The Charlottesville Police Department released its 2024 annual report — Chief Michael Kochis said the report shows that their work is effective. 29 News
- ➤ Livable Cville co-chairs Matthew Gillikin and Steven L. Johnson urged the University to drop its bid for the Federal Executive Institute property and back the Charlottesville City Schools' bid so that a new preschool center and central offices can be built—supporting local families and easing school space challenges. - ➤ Sentara Health announced today that Elwood Bernard 'Bernie' Boone III (MHA, FACHE) has been named President of Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital. Boone, who served as president at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital since 2012, will begin his tenure on June 2. 3WV
- ➤ UVA Health Children’s researchers enrolled 30 children under 3 with peanut allergies to test Early Peanut Oral Immunotherapy and found that 27 children safely reached a daily dose of 500 mg while a few showed only minor reactions (one child had a severe reaction at home). The researchers call for larger trials to further test this promising treatment. 3WV
- ➤ Hospice of the Piedmont will hold its 24th annual 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, May 10 at Keswick Estate to raise funds for its end-of-life care services provided to about 300 patients daily.
