  • Today, the Piedmont Master Gardeners hold their annual spring plant sale at Albemarle Square Shopping Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., offering thousands of plants, tools, and gardening supplies with knowledgeable gardeners on hand; the sale serves as a key fundraiser for the group.  29 News

  • Charlottesville’s Downtown Mall will mark its 50th anniversary on July 3 with a year-long celebration that includes historical tours, live music, and a lantern parade — a tribute to transforming Main Street into a pedestrian space.  29 News
  • The remains of the Robert E. Lee statue now appear as bronze ingots at MOCA in Los Angeles until May 3 in the Monuments exhibition.   • UVA Pipelines and Pathways held a monthly pop-up at Virginia Career Works to help local job-seekers apply for roles in the UVA Apprenticeship Program and University Police Department Security + provided support to submit resumes and set up Workday accounts.   • The Virginia Department of Health reported increased rotavirus levels early this year + officials advise parents to vaccinate children and practice good hand hygiene to help slow its spread as more emergency room visits occur for symptoms such as diarrhea, fever and stomach cramps.  29 News
  • UVA Health is now offering wireless pacemakers to patients in Charlottesville, making it the first hospital in the Mid-Atlantic to use the advanced device in cardiac care.  29 News
