  • SARA hosted Sexual Assault Awareness Month events in April at local breweries including Decipher Brewing, Högwaller Brewing, and Selvedge Brewing—efforts that provided 24-hour crisis response and outreach support for survivors in Charlottesville and five nearby counties. CRIME NEWS

  • Two people sustained non-life-threatening injuries in a shooting at the Oak Hill Market gas station south of Charlottesville Thursday night + police are investigating the case.  The Daily Progress
  • Albemarle Police reported that two people were shot Thursday night on Country Green Road near 5 Rows Apartments close to Old Lynchburg Road—both were transported to UVA with non-life threatening injuries.  3WV
  • The Charlottesville Police Department is asking for help finding Joshua Allen Fitzgerald — he was last seen on April 29th at about 11:00 a.m. near the 100 block of Burnet Street, and he is described as a white male standing 5’5” and weighing about 315 lbs with balding red hair and a recently shaved beard.  3WV
  • The Charlottesville Police Department is asking for help to locate missing teen Zerenity O’Donnell—officials urge anyone with information to contact them immediately.  CBS 19 News

  • Charlottesville installed new school zone cameras near Johnson Elementary, Buford Middle, and Summit Elementary to help enforce safer driving. Officials said final setup is underway—cameras will be fully operational by mid-May.  29 News
