  • The Rivanna River Company started its season with an event in Charlottesville where families, historians, and neighbors played in the water and learned about caring for the river—an important local resource. Rivanna Conservation Alliance led hands-on lessons on wildlife and history along the river to help people connect with its natural value.  29 News

ECONOMY NEWS

  • High housing costs have pushed workers out of Charlottesville into rural counties, causing more traffic on busy routes. The Virginia Department of Transportation is asking for public input through studies + community feedback meetings to help plan fixes for U.S. 29.  29 News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Community Christian Academy (a private Christian school) applied for the FEI building along with the University of Virginia and Charlottesville City Schools, and its Executive Director Dr. Kimberly Moore asked for a fair review of their application.   • Last November, Virginia voters turned out at high rates in a presidential race, but Larry Sabato from UVA’s Center for Politics said turnout will drop about 15 percentage points in the upcoming governor's race—citing lower stakes in state elections.  29 News
