Community members gathered Saturday, May 30 on West Main to unveil an honorary street sign dedicated to Melvin Eugene Walker—owner of the beloved Mel’s Cafe who made a lasting impact on the area.

Two signs now mark the new Mel’s Walk.

The Faculty Senate released a report from exit interviews with 46 departing faculty after the 2025-26 academic year.
