ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A lightning strike fire damaged a home on Stony Point Road Saturday afternoon near Watts Passage—firefighters arrived around 4 p.m. and one resident escaped safely while two people had to find new shelter with family support. 3WV
- ➤ Police warn drivers to avoid the 1800 block of Fray Road near the line between Albemarle and Greene counties—heavy rainfall has caused part of the road to collapse near Advance Mills Road and it remains closed until further notice as crews assess damage. 29 News
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ On Sunday, July 20th, an Albemarle County officer pulled over a vehicle on Pantops Corner Way when 33-year-old Trevious T. Sandridge of Charlottesville gave false identification and sped off, prompting a chase that ended in a hotel parking lot near Interstate 64—where a search found suspected cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl and a sawed-off shotgun and led to charges for controlled substance possession, firearm offenses, felony eluding and providing false identification while he is held without bond at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail. 3WV
