COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Heavy rains and flooding on July 19 caused Fray Road to collapse, cutting off access for 32 Advance Mills Village homes and forcing residents to use temporary emergency roads for safety and access. Albemarle County Fire and Rescue and local homeowners are working together on safety measures and a GoFundMe effort to raise funds for temporary and permanent road repairs — residents are urged to use the new road sparingly until full repairs are completed.  Cville Right Now

CRIME NEWS

  • A church rector responded to an assault at a Charlottesville church that left several people with minor injuries (he said the incident 'could’ve been worse') as police investigate the case.  29 News
  • On Sunday, July 27, a man walked into Saint Paul Memorial Episcopal Church and kicked off a sudden attack that left Rector William Peyton and several others with minor injuries—police later arrested him and charged him with seven counts of assault and battery.  29 News
