- ➤ Charlottesville activist Tanesha Hudson hosted a block party at Tonsler Park on August 10 that brought together local families, Black-owned businesses, and community groups. - ➤ Before the new academic year begins, the UVA Student Council passed a resolution declaring no confidence in the Board of Visitors (BOV) after appointing an interim president without student input. - ➤ Gov Youngkin’s office provided $12 million to CvilleBioHub's Commonwealth Bio Accelerator—located at UVA’s North Fork Research Park—to support lab expansion for biotech start-ups and boost local growth.
