- ➤ Alexandria Searls resigned as director of the Lewis & Clark Exploratory Center after 22 years and said the controversy over a statue should not define her legacy. - ➤ On August 4, the Board of Visitors named Paul G. Mahoney as interim president after former President Jim Ryan resigned under pressure from the Department of Justice—he will lead the University until a new president is chosen.
