- ➤ Albemarle Police are asking the public’s help to find 80-year-old Lawrence Thomas, who has dementia and was last seen walking to his mailbox between 5 and 6 p.m. on August 17 in the 7000 block of Secretary Sands Road—he is described as five feet five inches tall and about 130 pounds with grey hair and brown eyes. - ➤ A man was critically injured after being struck by a fleeing vehicle on Monacan Trail Road—just south of Charlottesville—and transported to UVA Medical Center—on Sunday evening—as police investigated the hit-and-run. 29 News
