  • University of Virginia is set to welcome about 4000 first-year students moving in today and tomorrow after Lawn residents began moving in last Friday—heavy traffic is expected on Alderman and McCormick as families and movers pick up dorm supplies.  3WV

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Piedmont Environmental Group launched its campaign (Virginians for a Smarter Digital Future Campaign) to raise awareness about how data centers impact the environment. The group will share more details soon (aiming to guide local choices).  29 News

HEALTH NEWS

  • University of Virginia School of Medicine researchers have developed a monoclonal antibody that stops sepsis in lab tests—this breakthrough could also help treat other dangerous inflammatory conditions. The team will soon launch a clinical trial funded by $800,000 from Virginia Catalyst to test the antibody at UVA Health and Virginia Commonwealth University.  3WV

SPORTS NEWS

  • Virginia volleyball will host five conference games at John Paul Jones Arena—playing against Stanford, California, Virginia Tech, NC State and Wake Forest this season as Memorial Gymnasium remains closed for renovations.
