  • After UVA's win Friday night, fans rushed onto Scott Stadium—19 were treated for injuries as emergency responders restored safety.  29 News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Charlottesville Community Bikes and Living Earth School launched a drive for donated bikes and bike parts to provide free rides to people in need — the donations will also reduce landfill waste.  29 News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Del. Amy Laufer and Del. Katrina Callsen said healthcare is the top concern in Central Virginia after Augusta Health announced three clinics will close due to Medicaid cuts from the One Big Beautiful Bill Act—criticism aimed at Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears, who claimed no Virginian will lose coverage despite fears of reduced access to care. They highlighted that rural areas feel the impact most when policy changes strain essential services.  The Daily Progress

HEALTH NEWS

  • Virginia college students use BORGs—a jug filled with water, alcohol and sports drinks—to enjoy parties, but health experts warn that these drinks give a false sense of safety and may lead to severe intoxication.  The Daily Progress
  • UVA Health is increasing awareness of thyroid cancer symptoms and treatment as Thyroid Cancer Awareness Month ends—Dr. Fowler said people with a neck nodule, a history of radiation, or family cases should get checked.  3WV
  • Mount Zion First African Baptist Church and UVA Health hosted the Know Your Numbers event to offer free lab tests and health screenings and expand services that had helped about 100 men by including women. The event also provided free food, clothing and haircuts to support community health.  29 News

  • After UVA football's big win on Friday night, fans rushed the field and 19 people were injured — local emergency teams quickly responded to the incident.  29 News
  • Freshman forward Nicholas Simmonds has started all seven games for the Cavaliers, scoring four goals—including an equalizer against Virginia Tech and a brace against No-1 Wake Forest—and he is praised for his early impact as the team will play North Carolina at home on Saturday night at 7 p.m.  The Cavalier Daily
