- ➤ The Virginia Department of Transportation announced that full nighttime closures of U.S. 29/250 at the Old Ivy Road overpass will run from 11:30 p.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday, 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday, and 10 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday because a commercial truck hit and damaged the bridge—plans include replacing the deck, beams and rehabilitating the piers to improve vertical clearance while drivers follow detour routes. 3WV
- ➤ A commercial vehicle struck the Old Ivy Road bridge over the 29 bypass Monday around noon—forcing its full closure as crews assess the damage while VDOT said reopening remains unknown and planned rehabilitation continues on schedule. Cville Right Now
