- ➤ Charley Burton will host the inaugural Trans Futures Conference on October 11 in Charlottesville to unite Black, white, brown, nonbinary, trans masculine, trans feminine individuals and allies in tackling legal, healthcare and mental health issues. The event, co-sponsored by Charley Speaks and Equality Virginia, has reached full registration with 150 attendees—aiming to empower the trans community. Charlottesville Tomorrow
- ➤ Charlottesville celebrities teamed up with the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank to collect food, funds, and donations during the Shop to Stop Hunger event—participants had 60 seconds to fill their carts with groceries from Kroger and Home Instead Senior Care. UVA Community Credit Union matched $5,000 of the winning donation as the food bank said contributions will help provide over 75,000 meals to those in need. 29 News

- ➤ Riverside Lunch — a family-owned spot since 1935 — serves Charlottesville mouthwatering smash burgers made from locally sourced beef. The diner keeps a simple menu and friendly service despite changing tastes, making it a strong local favorite. Cville Right Now
- ➤ On Tuesday, the Isidore String Quartet played three pieces at Old Cabell Hall to merge past and present music. The quartet performed works by Haydn, Brahms—and Dvořák while interim University President Paul Mahoney praised the clear, engaging sound. The Cavalier Daily
- ➤ At the University, the feature twirlers perform at football and basketball games and will compete at national events this summer, showing off baton skills that mix dance, gymnastics, and fire routines.
