Good morning, Charlottesville. Here's your local news at a glance for Wednesday, the 29th of October.

COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Federal workers at CHO have not been paid for almost a month due to a federal funding lapse, so a community-led Help Hub now provides fresh meals—groceries, gas cards, and essentials—to support them. Local organizers stress that these workers are vital to the airport's operations.  29 News
  • Earlier this year, Lisa Draine joined the steering committee for the Charlottesville Food Co-op, a Black-led group planning a community-owned grocery store to reinvest in historically Black neighborhoods and build local wealth.
