ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Albemarle Fire Rescue said a cooking fire in a unit at University Heights Apartments displaced seven residents Wednesday night. The crew arrived around 9:30 p.m. and contained the fire within ten minutes while the Red Cross helped the displaced residents—no one was hurt. Cville Right Now

- ➤ Henrico Recreation and Parks joined 70 historic destinations to launch the Virginia 250 Passport that offers a free 64-page commemorative booklet (with stamps that can earn up to a 15% discount and entry into a prize drawing) and prizes to encourage families to explore Virginia’s history. The passport is available at signature sites from November 11 to Dec. 31. 29 News

- ➤ Conservation groups hold a free open house today at Ducard Vineyards for landowners in Etlan and Syria as they seek support to protect lands near Shenandoah National Park.
