- ➤ Virginia Farm Bureau's survey found that the cost of a Thanksgiving meal for 10 people was $80.48 — a slight decline from last year's $81.07. The survey, run from Oct. 20 to Nov. 6, showed turkey prices rose 2% to $1.72 per pound — while most other food prices fell, with Orange County recording the highest and Richmond the lowest overall meal costs. 3WV

- ➤ On Wednesday, Woodbrook Elementary held its first walk-a-thon where 27 classes and over 500 students completed 4,216 laps to raise over $12,000 for school field trips and teacher grants.
