- ➤ Brightstar Care of Charlottesville employs two Community Outreach Specialists who work with local partners to host fun events and educational sessions for seniors. - ➤ The Student Council passed a resolution Tuesday to improve the University's emergency protocols after a false shooter report on Nov. 3 caused widespread student confusion—feedback from over 170 survey responses led them to call for clearer text alerts, secure classroom doors, and better lockdown training for staff. - ➤ Virginia Governor-elect Abigail Spanberger— a UVA grad— said on The Weekly Show with Jon Stewart on Nov. 21 that the federal deal with UVA was weak and that she will change university governance by appointing new board members and altering the process for selecting legal counsel. She promised these changes will soon give state schools stronger oversight and clear rules. 3WV
