COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Charlottesville mechanic Todd Archer from Bob's Wheel Alignment on East Market Street urges residents to check their vehicles for rodent nesting in areas such as under the glove box and around filter boxes since mice can damage wires and insulation during cold weather. • The Honor Committee voted unanimously on Nov. 9 to change the bylaw so that students must admit guilt before the pre-hearing conference to qualify for expulsion protection—this moves the deadline 14 days earlier than before. • On Friday, the university's presidential search committee and its search firm said they will keep looking for a new president despite a November 14 Faculty Senate call to pause due to trust concerns. They said they finished first interviews—had not chosen any finalists—and will do more work before narrowing the pool.  The Cavalier Daily

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The presidents of the UVA main Grounds and UVA-Wise student councils wrote a memorandum urging full student voting rights on the Board of Visitors since students pay tuition and deserve representation—an idea that may prompt legislative changes as officials review options for including student, faculty, and staff votes on the board.  Cville Right Now
