CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Vasillios George Pistolis, a 26-year-old ex-Marine, was convicted by an Albemarle County jury for using fire to racially intimidate during a torch-lit march at the University of Virginia on August 11th — his sentencing is set for July 18th. The Daily Progress

- ➤ The Hatton Ferry, which served the James River for 155 years, was hauled from the water on March 19th by a crane-assisted crew, ending its run as the nation’s last public hand-poled ferry.
