- ➤ Authorities in Albemarle Co. issued a critically missing adult alert for a 33-year-old man named Foster—6-foot-1 and 161 pounds with blue eyes and black hair—and are asking anyone with information to come forward. 29 News
- ➤ A critically missing adult alert was issued by the Albemarle County Police Department for 33-year-old Christopher Morgan Foster, a 6-foot-1 man with blue eyes & black hair who last spoke with his father on August 7th at 1:23 p.m. and may be in a silver 2007 Honda Civic with plate GVITALL as his disappearance poses a credible threat to his health and safety. 29 News

- ➤ On August 8, a free concert series took place at Ting Pavilion in downtown Charlottesville featuring Adam’s Plastic Pond opening at 5:30 p.m.—doors opened at 5 p.m.—with headliner Erin and the Wildfire drawing a crowd. - ➤ After two decades of planning, Buford Middle School has become a modern Charlottesville Middle School building that will soon welcome seventh and eighth graders – teachers started their preparations this week and crews will keep working at the old building until final renovations finish in 2026. 29 News
- ➤ UVA ended its nearly 60-year college prep program Uplift@UVa on Aug. 1 — the program, formerly known as Upward Bound, was cut after modest participation — and will support low-income and first-generation students through other initiatives such as Starr Hill Pathways.
