CRIME NEWS

  • Albemarle Police are asking the public’s help to find 80-year-old Lawrence Thomas, who has dementia and was last seen walking to his mailbox between 5 and 6 p.m. on August 17 in the 7000 block of Secretary Sands Road—he is described as five feet five inches tall and about 130 pounds with grey hair and brown eyes.  Cville Right Now
  • A man was critically injured after being struck by a fleeing vehicle on Monacan Trail Road—just south of Charlottesville—and transported to UVA Medical Center—on Sunday evening—as police investigated the hit-and-run.  29 News
  • Charlottesville police are still searching for the shooter involved in a shooting that occurred late Saturday night on West Main—tips from the public are encouraged.  29 News
